Job summary

Offaly County Council is seeking a Director of Services to join its executive leadership team in County Offaly, Leinster, Ireland. You will lead functional areas, manage large multidisciplinary teams and budgets, and drive strategic policy aligned with national priorities.

The role requires delivering change programmes, supporting staff development, and overseeing resources to provide efficient public services to local communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior management within a Local Authority setting.
• Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage budgets.
• Track record of delivering change programmes and local government reform.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and delivery of long-term vision that promotes the physical, social, cultural and economic environment in an integrated way.
• Lead and manage a team to deliver on the functional areas and programmes within their remit.
• Develop policy and strategic plans with the Council, Municipal Districts and committees in line with national priorities, delivering services efficiently.
• Implement the corporate plan and deliver national and local programmes in a resource-efficient manner.
• Develop and support staff to ensure optimum service delivery including PMDS.
