Job summary

Mowlam Healthcare in Adare & district Memory Care Centre seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership, manage day-to-day practices, rostering, supervision, and governance within the home.

You will deputise for the DON, work with the senior management team, oversee medication practices, audits, staff development, and ensure high-quality resident care and safety across all shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with first level registration and ongoing CPD.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Previous management experience in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and manage day-to-day clinical practices in the home.
• Oversee staff rostering, delegation and supervision with the DON and Healthcare Manager.
• Ensure adherence to clinical governance, risk assessment and documentation standards.
• Lead regular clinical audits and medicines management in collaboration with GPs and pharmacies.
• Support staff development, appraisals, and in-house training including infection control and end-of-life care.
• Maintain strong communication with residents, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
