Job summary

A leading agricultural equipment manufacturer in Tuam is seeking an Assembly Operator to join their Evolution Production team. You will be responsible for the assembly of a product range, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and participating in team collaboration. The ideal candidate should have a Leaving Certificate and strong attention to detail, with a preference for experience in a similar role.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems is preferable.
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory.
• Agricultural knowledge is desired but not essential.

Job description

Purpose of Position

As an Assembly Operator you will work as part of our Evolution Production team. This role will involve being cross trained to work in all areas of production, assembly, testing and installation. You will be self-motivated with a drive for process improvements. They will report to the Production Supervisor. This role is based at JFC’s Headquarters in Tuam, Co Galway.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of assembly of our Evolution calf feeder range.
• Follow stock control procedures throughout the assembly process.
• Checking in and out of products and components.
• Follow daily assembly plans as outlined by your supervisor.
• Attend Daily PIT meetings to ensure optimum performance of the production line.
• Daily checking on material or equipment and monitoring performance requirements
• Ensure all SOPs are followed at all times.
• Participate in a cross-functional teamwork environment.
• Provide service and customer support during field visits working with hand tools, Machines and Chemicals when trained, following all safety requirements.
• Ensure accurate completion of associated paperwork/records.
• Performing Acceptance tests and end of line testing.
• Use lean 6σ projects and methodology to improve the operation of the production floor.
• Assembly and cleaning of products for shows.
• Working on own initiative regarding process/methods.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Health and Safety General Rules & Procedures.
• Responsible for a high level of housekeeping in your area is adhered to at all times.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent is a minimum requirement.
• Technical certificate or relevant equivalent is desirable.
• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems is preferable.
• High level of professionalism and good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a pro-active and efficient manner.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational, prioritisation and planning ability.
• Strong adherence to health & safety, quality & 5S standards.

Working Conditions

Normal working conditions, travel/visits to other JFC sites may be required. Attendance at exhibits and/or events may also be required.
