Job summary

Sodexo Ireland is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Bantry, West Cork, with sites across the region. The role is evening-based (6:30pm–10:30pm) Monday–Friday with possible weekend shifts, ensuring safety, security and smooth operation of school facilities during events.

Responsibilities include acting as onsite contact after hours, supervising events, basic maintenance, and emergency response. Some shifts may be across Cork city; training for Fire Warden and First Aid is required or available.

• Practical DIY or maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond calmly in emergencies.
• Good communication skills.
• Fire Warden and First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).

Responsibilities

• Support the safe operation of the building, including HVAC training and light maintenance tasks.
• Ensure premises remain secure, safe and well maintained; report issues promptly.
