Job summary

Promptly Recruitment is seeking a Qualified Technician for its motor group in Dublin. You will diagnose, service and repair petrol, diesel and electric vans, using diagnostic tools to identify faults and verify repairs. You will work to manufacturer standards, maintain records, and support apprentices.

Applicants should have an apprenticeship in motor mechanics or HGV, 2–4 years' hands-on LCV experience, and a full Irish driving licence. Sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent in motor mechanics or HGV (Phase 3 or 4 preferred).
• 2–4 years' hands-on experience on light commercial vehicles.
• Mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills, including EV systems.
• A full driving licence valid in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair petrol, diesel and electric vans and LCVs.
• Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to find faults and verify repairs.
• Work to manufacturer standards and health and safety procedures.
• Keep service, maintenance and warranty records up to date.
• Explain findings and repair options to customers and workshop controllers.
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians.
