Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking an R&D Europe Beverage Intern to join our team in Cork, Ireland for a 6-9 month internship starting next year. The role supports the Europe Beverages Product Development Team across Europe-wide initiatives, focusing on new product development, formula design, and lab prototype work.

You will collaborate with multiple functions including engineering, quality, and consumer insights to advance product concepts and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support new product development based on consumer insights, cost, process and regulatory requirements.
• Assist formula design for innovation, productivity and product optimization; prepare prototypes in lab.
• Conduct product stability tests and shelf life studies.
• Collaborate with food safety, quality, nutrition to meet guardrails of product design.
• Support consumer research and exploration with the SCPI team.
• Assist engineering for pilot plant trials, scale-up and equipment validation.

Overview

PepsiCo Internship Programme is 6-9 month program designed for high potential undergraduate students, just like you, into real life business impact roles – with the goal to best prepare you for a successful future. We are now looking to hire a R&D Europe Beverage Intern to join the team in Cork, Ireland starting next year for the duration of 6-9 months.

Join us and support R&D Europe Beverages Product Development Team for Europe wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support new product development based on consumer insights, cost, process/package requirements and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support the formula design for innovation, productivity and product optimization, and responsible for prototype preparation in lab
• Carry out Product stability tests and shelf life studies
• Work with food safety, quality, nutrition to ensure the product design meet the respective guardrails
• Work with SCPI team to support consumer research and exploration
• Work with engineering team for trial runs in pilot plant, scale up trials run in plant and validation of new equipment

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science / Chemistry / Microbiology / Engineering or related discipline
• Good knowledge of basic chemistry and nutrition
• High degree of initiative, drive and motivation – working independently as well as a team player.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interest in Food and the Food Industry, Innovation and product development
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Understanding of instrumentation
• Excellent people skills with the ability to work well with others
