Job summary

University College Dublin invites applications for a fully ERC-funded PhD position in tissue engineering under the DESIGN-ECM project. The four-year, full-time PhD is based at the UCD Charles Institute of Dermatology and will explore species- and sex-specific ECM and cell biology using advanced biomaterials and organoid models.

Candidates will work with 3D ECM scaffolds, in vitro validations, and omics, under the supervision of Dr Seungkuk Ahn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1st class or 2:1 honours; Master's in Biomaterials, Biomedical Engineering, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and characterise 3D ECM scaffolds.
• Perform in vitro cell validations.
• Develop 3D ovarian organoid models.
