Job summary

Takeda in Bray, Ireland, is seeking an Equipment Engineer to manage and optimize engineering operations, ensuring production processes and assets meet quality, cost, safety, reliability and performance standards.

Job Description

TheEquipment Engineeris responsible for managing and performing engineering operations within the organization. This role ensures that production processes and assets meet standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, maintainability, and performance.

The Equipment Engineer supports Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Managementactivities by improving equipment reliability, optimizing asset performance, reducing downtime, and supporting the lifecycle management of critical manufacturing equipment. The role contributes to the design, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment, supporting Takeda’s mission of delivering better health and a brighter future.

How you will contribute:

• Manage projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies for critical assets using PM optimization and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Conductcritical spare-parts analysisto identify, assess, and optimize the availability of spare parts required to support equipment reliability, maintenance readiness, and business continuity.
• Design, construct, test, and operate equipment to meet production standards
• Ensure quality, cost, safety, reliability, and performance standards are met in production processes
• Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications for engineering projects
• Work collaboratively withProject Engineeringto support the integration, commissioning, qualification, and handover of newly acquired assets into maintenance and asset-management systems.
• Supportcorrective maintenance and shutdown job planning, including scope definition, resource and materials planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
• Apply advanced knowledge of engineering practices to solve difficult and sometimes complex problems

• Trade- or degree-qualified in a relevant discipline, such as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Applies basic tooling concepts in simple situations under ongoing supervision
• Understands lean manufacturing concepts and applies them in straightforward situations with coaching
• Starts to grasp Continuous Improvement Process concepts and applies them with support
• Utilizes machining tools under close supervision for straightforward tasks
• Applies Six Sigma tools with guidance in simple quality improvement projects
• Contributes to market analysis and customer needs assessment in new product development with continuous guidance
• Applies basic fabrication principles in simple tasks requiring ongoing supervision
• Uses quality assurance practices with guidance in routine settings
• Begins to solve simple troubleshooting problems with continued coachingApplies basic Statistical Process Controls concepts under continued supervision
• Identifies simple workflow obstacles and needs coaching to apply optimization techniques

As a solid professional, you receive assignments with objectives and goals, providing guidance to employees based on established policies. Your work is reviewed by management to assess goal achievement and adherence to policies, with opportunities to recommend policy changes within your unit or sub-unit. You address moderate scope problems, applying judgment within defined procedures and policies, and act as an advisor when needed. Your role involves frequent use of industry practices and general knowledge, ensuring project completion on schedule, primarily liaising internally with subordinates and supervisors, with minimal external contacts and guidance.

Base Salary Range: €57,800.00 - €79,420.00
