Job summary

Amazon seeks an Environmental Program Manager to support environmental compliance for AWS facilities in Ireland. You will help ensure regulatory compliance, perform gap analyses, prepare compliance plans for new technologies, establish metrics, and guide implementation of AWS environmental standards.

Engage with government entities, contractors, and internal teams to drive risk management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, geology, geography, biology, chemistry or related field with 4+ yrs of experience as an environmental technical resource, environmental consultant, environmental manager, program specialist, or program manager.
• Experience in waste management, environmental compliance, environmental auditing, environmental permitting/reporting, environmental management systems and ISO14001 standards.
• Broad knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the growth of the business through environmental due diligence reviews and permitting support.
• Support regional strategic programmes by integrating with design engineering, construction, and operations.
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organisation.
• Support regulatory agency interactions, permit and licence evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction.
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance.
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
• Prioritise and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
• Assist in time-critical report submissions to various governmental agencies.
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions.

We are seeking an Environmental Program Manager to support environmental compliance at AWS facilities in Ireland. You will support standards and policies that ensure regulatory compliance, complete environmental performance and gap analyses, prepare environmental compliance plans for new technologies and/or permits, establish and monitor metrics, and support implementation of AWS environmental standards. You will provide guidance and build effective relationships with internal and external partners, including government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders. You will have an opportunity to support and contribute to large-scale compliance projects for future and operational sites.

Basic Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and licensing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programmes including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws.
• Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organisation;
• Experience managing multiple projects, prioritising, planning, and managing time effectively;
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills: solid relationship builder, influencing and negotiation skills, and ability to work collaboratively at multiple levels;
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and common project management tools.
