Job summary

TelLab, part of the Celnor Group, invites applications for a Laboratory Analyst in Carlow. You will join an environmental testing team focused on high-quality analytical services.

You'll perform chemical analyses on environmental samples using advanced instrumentation, follow SOPs, calibrate instruments, and support reporting. A 3rd level science qualification and hands-on lab experience are essential, with opportunities for career progression and on-site parking.

Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification in chemistry or environmental science required.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience and knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Experience in method development and validation preferred; LIMS and MS Office are advantages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical analyses on environmental samples using IC, ICP-MS, AAS and spectrometer.
  • Follow SOPs and regulatory guidelines to produce accurate data for reports and compliance.
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain lab instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with laboratory tasks, inventory management and documentation.
  • Respond proactively to unexpected needs to improve lab efficiency.

TelLab are currently seeking an Experienced Laboratory Analyst with a 3rd level qualification in Chemistry to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Environmental Laboratory, where you will gain hands‑on experience and contribute to our mission of providing high‑quality analytical services in environmental testing.

Shift: 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (subject to change - our operational hours are 07:30 - 18:00).

What You Will Do
  • Perform a wide range of chemical analyses on environmental samples, including fuel, water, and dust, using advanced instrumentation such as IC, ICP-MS, AAS and Spectrometer.
  • Ensure that all analyses are performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices, producing accurate, high-quality data for client reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Regularly calibrate and maintain lab instruments to ensure consistent, accurate test results.
  • Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in results, addressing any deviations with corrective actions.
  • Assist with additional laboratory tasks or special projects, including equipment troubleshooting, inventory management, and assisting in the preparation of laboratory reports or documentation.
  • Be flexible and proactive in responding to unexpected needs, contributing to the lab's overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Who You Are
  • A 3rd Level Qualification in Chemistry or Environmental Science or a closely related scientific discipline is required, providing a solid foundation in chemical principles and laboratory practices.
  • Hands‑on experience working in a laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, sample handling, and safety protocols is an advantage.
  • Experience in method development and validation, demonstrating your ability to improve and optimise testing processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency is desirable.
  • Proficient in LIMS & Microsoft Office is an advantage.
