Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join the growing environmental team in Ireland. This role focuses on supporting Environmental Impact Assessments, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, and delivering high-quality environmental studies across projects.

You will work on planning legislation, EIAs, and environmental assessments, while contributing to tender preparations and business development.

Qualifications

Context

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our growing team. This position within our environmental team will suit a committed and ambitious Environmental Consultant who can demonstrate strong growth, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.

The Environment Consultant will support our environmental team in Ireland as our workload continues to grow, with a clear objective to further expand both the workstream and the team in the region.

Main Duties

Support the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental assessments:

  • Assisting with the coordination of multidisciplinary teams
  • Involvement across all project life stages (feasibility, option selection, outline design, to detailed design and construction).
  • Critical eye for detail to ensure deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards
  • Take responsibility for contributing to environmental assessments
Project management
  • Effectively manage discreet tasks within projects
  • Assist in the delivery of project activities, including planning coordinating resources and tracking budgets
  • Engage with stakeholders in a professional manner under project manager guidance
Supporting tender preparations
  • Contribute to the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Assisting with team business development and marketing
Profile/Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience of working within an environmental consultancy
  • Experience in coordinating EIAs and environmental assessments and managing multidisciplinary environmental inputs
  • Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, environmental regulations and EU Directives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative and comfortable with working on multiple projects and tasks at any one time.
