Job summary

LEO Pharma in Dublin seeks a skilled Engineering Technician to keep production moving, protect quality, and drive improvements in a regulated manufacturing setting. You will join the Technical Services maintenance team, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure GMP compliance.

You will work with BMS, CMMS, and other systems while collaborating with Operations to optimise equipment performance and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline is required - supported by trade certificates.
• Experience in engineering maintenance within a manufacturing/pharmaceutical environment.
• Knowledge of CMMS, work orders and preventive maintenance planning.
• Understanding of cGMP, safety standards and change control.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and improving equipment performance.
• Exposure to software systems for maintenance and GMP documentation (BMS/EPAS/MyDoc/WinCC/FTView).
• LEAN manufacturing qualification or experience is beneficial.

Your Role

As an Engineering Technician within our Technical Services function, you will be a key member of the Maintenance Team, supporting site operations across Fill/Pack or Bulk/Utilities maintenance activities.Your main objective will be to complete maintenance activities to high standards, ensuring equipment availability, GMP compliance, safety, and smooth production performance.

You will work closely with operations and other departments to diagnose issues, maintain equipment, and contribute to continuous improvements that optimise performance and reduce downtime.

Your primary tasks will include:

• Troubleshooting breakdowns, and completing repairs to agreed standards and run rates.
• Completing preventive maintenance activities and maintaining accurate GMP documentation, including work orders, logbooks, training records, and plant data books.
• Using CMMS to generate, plan, schedule, update, and close work orders, including spare parts information and equipment history.
• Supporting operations teams and cross-functional partners in resolving equipment, raw material, or packaging-related issues.
• Identifying and contributing to machine improvements and continuous improvement projects that increase equipment effectiveness.

You will also support technical training, participate in shift handovers, assist in maintaining appropriate spare parts stock, and operate relevant computer-based systems such as BMS, ePAS4, MyDoc, WinCC, FTView as required.

Flexibility and cross-training will be important, as the role may involve supporting maintenance activities across different areas of the site.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring significant technical maintenance capability, experience working with regulated processes, and a solid understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GEP (Good Engineering Practice), safety procedures, and accurate documentation.

You are comfortable diagnosing equipment issues, working with maintenance systems, and supporting reliable production in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline is required - supported by the appropriate trade certificates, e.g. National Craft Certificate or equivalent qualification in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fitting, maintenance, or similar.
• Experience in engineering maintenance within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment.
• Practical knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), work orders, preventive maintenance, and maintenance planning.
• Understanding of cGMP requirements, safety standards, change control, and documentation practices.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and supporting equipment performance improvements and ensuring corrective and preventive maintenance is actioned.
• Exposure to software systems to support maintenance, equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and GMP documentation, such as BMS, ePAS4, MyDoc, WinCC, FTView, or equivalent platforms.
• Qualification in LEAN manufacturing is desirable, or experience within this environment is beneficial
