Job summary

Aviva seeks an Engineering Manager on a 24-month fixed-term contract to provide technical leadership across the Life Platforms estate. You will shape technical direction, drive decision-making with senior engineers, and ensure secure, scalable solutions that meet customer needs.

Work with architects and stakeholders to simplify complexity, lead across multiple applications, and champion modern engineering practices including AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building enterprise apps with Java ecosystems.
• Experience leading multiple teams through architectural decisions.
• Proven ability to translate complex tech concepts for business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the Life Platforms estate and set direction for teams.
• Lead architectural discussions across applications to align with objectives.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to reduce complexity and unblock delivery.
• Communicate priorities, risks and opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
