MSD Ballydine is offering an Engineering Intern role on-site to participate in maintenance and reliability projects within a leading pharmaceutical setting. You will contribute to RBAM events, data analysis, BOM creation, and improvements to the CMMS while working closely with site engineers.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant discipline.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Self-starter with the ability to project manage activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support day to day plant operation and maintenance within the Maintenance Engineering team.
  • Assist in RBAM events, reliability projects to improve uptime and performance.
  • Develop and execute data analysis for Mechanical Integrity programmes.
  • Collaborate on electrical system reviews, ATEX inspections and ARC Flash mitigation.
  • Support Predictive Maintenance systems and test emerging digital reliability technologies.
  • Contribute to CMMS improvements and BOM creation for critical equipment.
  • Support M&I spend management and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Data mining and visualization using Power Apps and Power BI.
  • Assist in writing and revising maintenance procedures and training materials.

Engineering Intern Role at Ballydine

So, what will you will be responsible for? Bringing energy, knowledge, innovation and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Work as part of the Maintenance Engineering team supporting day to day plant operation and maintenance.
  • Work in conjunction with the Reliability Engineer in the preparation, support during and close out of Risk Based Asset Management (RBAM) Events and Reliability Engineering projects that will improve plant uptime and performance.
  • Assist in the development and execution and data analysis of the Mechanical Integrity Programme for the site.
  • Work with the Site Electrical Engineer in the review of capital projects, Electrical System Maintenance, Programmes such as ATEX inspection and ARC Flash mitigation.
  • Support the sites Predictive Maintenance system (Vibration, Thermal, Oil Analysis, etc.), while testing emerging technologies towards achieving a new Digital Reliability strategy.
  • Implement ongoing improvements to the site Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) via change control process under the guidance of the Reliability Engineer.
  • Responsible for progressing the build of Bill of Materials (BOM’s) on critical equipment within API production facilities to the point of order with on-site vendor.
  • Support the M&I departments MRO spend management program to identify potential cost saving opportunities and eliminate non-valued added activities.
  • Data Mining and Analysis Activities – use of tools such as Microsoft Power Apps, Power BI.
  • Participate in writing/revising/rolling out accurate operational procedures, training materials and maintenance procedures for various systems.

This internship will be completed fully on site (Ballydine)

  • Working towards a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant discipline
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on own initiative will be a prerequisite.
  • Being a self-starter and being able to project manage activities will be a distinct advantage.
