Cork University Hospital (CUH), one of Ireland’s largest and busiest acute hospitals, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join its dynamic and progressive Emergency Department. What You’ll Do
  • Lead the ED Team: Guide and support a multidisciplinary Emergency Department team, including NCHDs, nursing, and allied health professionals.
  • Deliver High‑Quality Care: Provide fast, effective, and evidence‑based treatment to patients in a busy emergency setting.
  • Drive Innovation: Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects aligned with the hospital’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate Across Specialties: Work closely with colleagues in acute medicine, surgery, ICU, and hospital management to enhance patient flow and service delivery.
Education & Research

Support the teaching of medical students and trainees, and participate in academic activities linked to UCC where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years post‑CCT experience in Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong clinical leadership and communication skills.
  • A commitment to excellence in patient care and continuous improvement.
  • Active IMC Specialist Registration (or eligible) in Emergency Medicine.
