Job summary

Acuity in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Software Squad Leader in Electronics to drive a multidisciplinary Scrum team focused on firmware, software controllers, and cloud‑connected applications for LED drivers and lighting control systems.

You will provide technical direction across firmware, backend and frontend, mentor engineers, and shape AI‑driven development while collaborating with product owners and system architects.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of full‑stack software development in embedded/IoT environments.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, secure engineering.
• Experience with TCP/UDP/BLE/Thread connectivity and firmware workflows.
• Agile/Scrum delivery and cross‑functional collaboration in a global org.
• Understanding of AI‑assisted software engineering and validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for firmware, backend and frontend components.
• Collaborate with architects to translate vision into executable plans.
• Lead AI‑assisted engineering practices within the squad.
• Interface with hardware for integration and debugging across devices.
• Design and implement connected-product capabilities using TCP/UDP/BLE/Thread.
• Shape backlog items with the Product Owner and support Agile planning.
• Review designs, code and tests for quality, security and traceability.
• Mentor engineers and foster knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Identify risks and coordinate with global teams to resolve impediments.
