SRG in Dublin is seeking an Electrical Shift Technician to join its energy solutions team. The role covers a broad range of processes from predictive maintenance to HV/LV distribution, turbines, boilers, and generators, with responsibilities across maintenance planning and incident response.

The position involves rotating 12.25-hour shifts and collaboration with on-site technicians, service providers, and engineers to maintain uptime and safety across complex plant systems.

Qualificações

• Craft-qualified electrician with relevant experience.
• Experience with HV and LV distribution and electrical generation equipment.
• Background in energy conversion and distribution.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate day-to-day work with on-site shift technicians.
• Act as point of contact for service providers.
• Troubleshoot and investigate utility plant faults and failures; perform root cause analysis.
• Carry out planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Use CMMS to manage PMs, create plans and SOPs for plant equipment.
• Lead and mentor team members to resolve plant deviations.
• Support Site Engineer and HV Engineer with root cause analysis.
• Assist in planning and executing complex utility service isolations for maintenance and projects.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement measures to improve plant efficiency.
• Support capital improvement projects and handover to operations.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.

The Role
As Electrical Shift Technician, you will train across a broad range of processes and techniques, including predictive maintenance, CMMS, reliability techniques, HV and LV distribution, turbines, boilers, compressors, diesel generators and pumps. You may also be asked to support the site in emergency situations outside normal working hours.

Hours
Rotating 12.25-hour shifts: four blocks of 4 day shifts with 4 rest days between each block, followed by four blocks of 4 night shifts with 4 rest days between each block. The pattern then repeats.

• Coordinate day-to-day work with on-site shift technicians, particularly at morning shift changeover
• Act as point of contact for service providers
• Troubleshoot and investigate utility plant faults and failures, including root cause analysis
• Record and investigate deviations on utility plant and equipment to support compliance and quality
• Carry out planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, ensuring PMs are completed on time
• Use CMMS systems effectively, and develop PMs, job plans and SOPs for plant equipment
• Liaise with the site planner on stores and spare part requirements
• Review the maintenance programme periodically to maintain optimal uptime
• Take a leadership role in decisions on plant operation and equipment suitability, including taking plant off line, communicating with relevant colleagues, and restoring plant or introducing back-up and standby systems
• Understand and act on the procedures required in a serious service outage
• Lead and mentor team members to resolve complex plant deviations and failures
• Support the Site Engineer and HV Engineer with root cause analysis, establishing the sequence of events and underlying cause, and helping develop remedies
• Support capital improvement projects on utilities systems, including commissioning and handover to operations
• Assist in planning and executing complex utility service isolations for maintenance, projects and client works
• Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement measures to improve plant efficiency and working practices
• Continuously build your knowledge of complex plant systems
• Support and comply with all safety procedures

About You

• Craft-qualified electrician with previous relevant experience
• Experience with HV and LV distribution, electrical generation turbines, diesel generators, boilers, fuel oil storage and distribution systems, and industrial gas installations
• Background ideally gained in energy conversion and distribution
