Job summary

EPS Group is seeking an Electrical Service Engineer for the Dublin Region (field based). Based from Naas, you'll support municipal and industrial wastewater and water facilities across the Dublin region.

You should be a qualified electrician with 3–5 years in wastewater/ pumping equipment, comfortable with maintenance, fault-finding and instrumentation. Travel across the region, with reporting to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance within water/wastewater.
  • Service and fault-find on pumping stations and treatment plants.
  • Install, wire, and configure variable speed drives and starters.
  • Diagnose faults and repair pumps, motors and control panels.
  • Liaise with Supervisors on electrical solutions and site work.
  • Complete service reports accurately.

Electrical Service Engineer - Dublin Region (Field Based Role)

Reporting to: Service Manager, EPS Group

Base Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Service Engineer to join our Service & Repairs team. The position will be based from our Naas branch; however, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting municipal and industrial customers throughout the Dublin Region.

This role is ideally suited to a qualified electrician with 3 to 5 years' experience in the industrial, water and wastewater sector, focused on preventative and reactive maintenance activities.

Essential Requirement: Candidates must have proven experience working with wastewater treatment equipment, pumping stations, pumps and associated process equipment. Applications without relevant wastewater and pumping equipment experience will not be considered.

As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance and repair of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants, pumping stations and associated infrastructure throughout the Dublin Region.

This is a highly varied and challenging role offering invaluable exposure to a wide range of electrical, instrumentation and process equipment. No two days are the same, with work activities agreed on an ongoing basis with the Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance within the water and wastewater industry.
  • Service, maintain and fault-find on wastewater pumping stations, treatment plants and associated infrastructure.
  • Carry out work on water and wastewater pumping and treatment installations, including instrumentation systems.
  • Calibration and servicing of on-site monitoring and instrumentation equipment.
  • Install, wire, commission and configure variable speed drives, DOL starters, star-delta starters and associated electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to pumps, motors, control panels and process equipment.
  • Liaise with Project Supervisors and Managers on electrical solutions and site implementation.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and efficiently.
Key Competencies And Skills
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience within the water or wastewater treatment industry.
  • Proven hands-on experience working with wastewater treatment processes, pumping stations, pumps and associated equipment is essential.
  • Ability to read control panel schematics and troubleshoot electrical control panel faults.
  • Strong technical knowledge of three-phase motors, pumps, dosing systems and associated instrumentation.
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, dosing equipment, control panels and instruments.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, automation and telemetry systems would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to service, maintain and fault-find electrical systems, including verification of PLC inputs and outputs.
  • Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Good computer and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical trade certification.
  • Full Irish/EU Driving Licence.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certification desirable.
