Job summary

SSE Renewables has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Team, supporting delivery of some of the largest onshore and offshore renewable projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Working as part of a team of experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development and delivery of projects from early-stage electrical system design through substations, grid connections, wind turbines and power system studies, ensuring safety, quality and

Qualifications

A degree in Electrical Engineering and progress towards Chartered Engineer status or professional registration.
Experience in renewable energy, wind, transmission or other complex infrastructure.
Understanding of electrical infrastructure standards, legislation and best practice.
Appreciation of commercial, technical and operational factors affecting delivery.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

Support electrical engineering design activities for substations and electrical balance of plant packages.
Prepare and review technical docs for substations and wind turbines.
Participate in FATs and SATs for major electrical systems.
Coordinate with project teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve issues.
Contribute to engineering best practice and continuous improvement.
