Job summary

AIR Sligo, part of the AIR Group, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support bespoke automation equipment delivery. Translate customer requirements into robust electrical designs and support build, test, and commissioning activities.

The role focuses on developing electrical designs for complex projects, detailing schematics, sourcing components, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering, manufacturing focus preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in electrical design, industrial wiring and debugging of equipment.
• Experience with electrical controls, motors, drives, panels and pneumatics.
• Experience using EPLAN, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Basic PLC programming knowledge and controls methods.
• Energetic team player with reliability and travel ability.
• Valid driving license and readiness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs for complex automation projects.
• Detail electrical schematics for build.
• Source electrical components for designs.
• Create test plans and documentation packs for designs.
• Assist in electrical debugging of systems.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers.
• Meet project delivery deadlines.
