Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join our team on major hyperscale data centre and mission-critical projects in Ireland. The role is based in Dublin or Limerick with domestic and international travel.

You will develop electrical designs for data centres, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure compliance with BS 7671, EN/IEC standards and Building Regulations.

Qualifications

• A third-level diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years' experience in electrical design engineering.
• 1–2 years' experience in data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and design principles.
• Knowledge of electrical regulations, industry standards and design guidelines.
• Experience with engineering software such as Amtech, ETAP, EPLAN P8, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, AutoCAD or Revit/Navisworks.
• Familiarity with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel.

• Support the design of power distribution, control, ICT, security, monitoring and fire detection systems.
• Produce electrical calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinate with mechanical, CSA and other engineering disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, contractors and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, ETCI requirements, BS 7671 and EN/IEC standards.
• Assist with electrical system studies, design reviews, technical assessments and value engineering.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and support project quality assurance processes.
• Contribute to technical problem-solving and continuous improvement across project delivery.

Electrical Design Engineer | Data Centres | Dublin or Limerick

We are looking for an ambitious and technically capable Electrical Design Engineer to join an experienced engineering team working on major hyperscale data centre and mission-critical projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of complex electrical systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and gain exposure to high-profile projects in Ireland and internationally.

The Role:

You will support the development, coordination and delivery of electrical designs for large-scale data centre projects, ensuring that systems meet technical specifications, project requirements and applicable industry standards.

Working alongside senior engineers, project managers, clients and contractors, you will play an important role in delivering safe, efficient and reliable electrical infrastructure for mission-critical environments.

What We're Looking For:

• A third-level diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Approximately 3–5 years' experience in electrical design engineering.
• Ideally, 1–2 years' experience in data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical power systems and electrical design principles.
• Good knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, industry standards and design guidelines.
• Experience with engineering software such as Amtech, ETAP, EPLAN P8, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, CDEGS, AutoCAD or Revit/Navisworks.
• Familiarity with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams and engaging with project stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required.

Membership of Engineers Ireland, the IET or a similar professional body is advantageous. Candidates working towards professional accreditation or chartership are also encouraged to apply.
