Job summary

Designer Group is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to lead electrical packages on large-scale data centre projects. You will oversee site teams, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget delivery of electrical systems.

The role requires strong LV/MV knowledge, design interpretation, and hands-on leadership to mentor junior staff and drive project closeout with rigorous safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing electrical installations on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, UPS, generators, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, BIM models, and Navisworks outputs.
• Strong planning, organisational, and people management skills.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project progress, productivity, and programme milestones, providing regular progress updates.
• Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure buildability and compliance with client requirements.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, labour requirements, and site resources.
• Chair and attend project, subcontractor, and coordination meetings.
• Interface with clients, consultants, and other trades to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage quality inspections, documentation, and project closeout activities.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover of electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Designer Group Health & Safety procedures, conducting site audits, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
• Mentor site personnel and support the development of apprentices and junior team members.

The Role
