Job summary

Atlantic Aviation Group, Shannon Airport, Shannon, Co Clare, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and to support ongoing safety initiatives at the Shannon hangar site.

The role involves auditing, training, incident investigation, and reporting, working collaboratively with HR, Operations, and Health & Safety Authority to advance a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to interpret health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
• Show a willingness to learn and develop knowledge across all aspects of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to positively influence and challenge within a busy operational environment.
• Build effective working relationships across departments and engage senior management to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for reviewing, interpreting, communicating, and implementing safety legislation.
• Lead internal audits and conduct spot checks to ensure a safe workplace.
• Monitor safety performance and provide updates to the EHS Quality Manager.
• Generate HS performance statistics and identify trends for action.
• Coordinate risk assessment programmes and follow-up actions.
• Develop and deliver training to employees, contractors, and customers.
• Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Produce management reports for internal and external bodies.
• Support evaluation of new activities and equipment for HS compliance.
• Maintain Emergency Response Plan and training records.
