Overview:
- We currently seek an experienced Specialist, Safety &Environment to join the site GSE (Global Safey & Environment) team for acontract period of 14 months. You will join a dedicated team and will play anintegral role in developing, maintaining, and continually improving the EHSsystems at our facility.
- You will provide technical guidance to the organizationto ensure compliance with legal requirements related to EHS as well as thecompany’s corporate standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines related toEHS and industry best practices.
- You will also ensure in conjunction with the EHS teamthat all health and safety regulatory requirements on the site are upheld tothe highest standard.
- EHS experience in Biologics / Pharmaceuticals is idealbut we will consider experience from other highly regulated industries. We aremost interested in your demonstrable record of success in the environmentalhealth and safety sector.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement and maintain EHS programmes to ensurecompliance with local legislation, company standards, and industry bestpractices.
- Ensure site environmental compliance against allregulatory, EPA permitting and Legal requirements.
- Evaluate EHS systems, programs and procedures forcompliance and improvement by reviewing, auditing and carrying out inspections.
- Manage day to day EHS queries, technical support, andmachine / plant/ process or equipment safety issues if present.
- Assist operational departments in achieving andestablishing compliance.
- Demonstrate a strong desire to protect employees, ourcommunity, and the environment in this world-class facility – leading with a’safety first’ mindset.
- Prepare relevant reports to site, divisional and/orcorporate management and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a high standard of documentation in relation toall activities.
- Evaluate all EHS applicable requirements for any newprojects and processes (along with other site departments where necessary) aswell as changes in the existing processes and installation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience Required:
- 5+ years EHS experience in a manufacturing facility -Pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industry.
- Proven record of success in the EHS sector.
- Experience on supporting multiple activities/projects.
- Experience in managing and implementing change.
- Strong ability to influence others across departments andat all levels of the organization.
- Technically strong; with understanding of a variety ofEHS topics.
- Innovative & compliance-minded, with the drive to goseek out necessary information.
- ‘Safety First’ mind-set. Desire to protect employees andenvironment.
Additional Note:
- Team Structure: Team of 7.
- Work Location: Primarily onsite.
- WFH: Up to 1 day per week, depending on businessneeds.
- Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM;Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM.
- Travel: No expected travel.
- Interview Process: Interview can be conducted inperson or via Microsoft Teams.
- Contract Type: Maternity leave cover(14 Months)
