A leading recruitment agency in Dublin seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to join their Environmental Health & Safety team. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate standards. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, along with strong interpersonal skills to influence change effectively.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of EHS, Engineering, or Operational experience in related industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • Strong ability to influence others and a 'Safety First' mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety support for ongoing and new projects.
  • Participate in local safety teams and audits.
  • Report weekly on KPIs in line with EHS objectives.

Overview

Purpose: An exceptional opportunity for an experienced EHS Specialist to join our client's Environmental Health & Safety team. You will provide technical guidance to the site as well as ongoing projects to ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements related to safety as well as our company's corporate standards, policies, procedures and guidelines and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • SME support in General Safety and High Risk Work Programs
  • SME support in Environmental Programs (Air, water, waste)
  • Provide safety support for new ongoing and new projects
  • Participate in local safety teams, audits and inspections, incident investigations, and other safety programs as required
  • EHS representative for risk assessments, change management impact assessments, training delivery, and contractor management
  • EHS Assessment and auditing of EHS process and systems in line with Global Safety and Environment Standards
  • Report out weekly to management and department teams on KPIs in line with EHS objectives/targets (planned vs. actual performance)
  • Serve as a leader in demonstrating and implementing a strong EHS culture across the site
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record to influence others, have strong knowledge of safety programs and be a convincing communicator with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate is a self-directed, technically strong individual who can work in a multi-functionary team environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering or related Safety or Environmental field of study
  • +7 years of EHS, Engineering, or Operational experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, petrochemical, or process related industry
  • In Depth Knowledge of Irish H&S and Environmental Legislation and regulations
  • High Risk Work program (Electrical safety, LOTO, Hot work, confined space etc) and Contractor Management experience beneficial
  • Ability to maintain focus on key goals and priorities, but also analyse the detail to facilitate problem resolution and ensure project success
  • Proven record of success in the EHS sector.
  • Experience on supporting multiple activities/projects.
  • Experience in managing and implementing change.
  • Strong ability to influence others across departments and at all levels of the organization
  • 'Safety First' mind-set. Desire to protect employees and environment.
