Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an Intermediate EHS Officer for a construction client delivering across Midlands sites in Ireland. The role focuses on ensuring health and safety compliance, leading proactive safety initiatives, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

You will conduct site audits, risk assessments and safety training, investigate incidents, and work with project teams and subcontractors to keep documentation accurate and up-to-date.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an EHS role, ideally multi-site.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
• Deep knowledge of current health & safety legislation, standards and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health and safety activities across multiple sites and ensure policy compliance.
• Conduct site audits, risk assessments and safety training sessions.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with site management, subcontractors and staff to promote safety culture.

About Your New Role

As an Intermediate EHS Officer, you will ensure the highest levels of health and safety compliance at various sites throughout the Midlands. You will drive proactive safety initiatives, conduct site inspections, and work closely with teams to maintain safe and efficient work environments. Your core duties will include:

• Overseeing health and safety activities and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations across multiple sites.
• Conducting site audits, risk assessments, and safety training sessions.
• Investigating incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective measures and reporting findings to management.
• Working with site and project management, subcontractors, and staff to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Keeping safety documentation and records current and accurate.

What Skills You Need

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an EHS role, ideally within multi-site environments.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
