Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced EHS Lead to take responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety on a major data centre development in Västerås, Sweden. You will lead the EHS function, shape the project safety strategy and ensure compliance with Swedish legislation and client requirements.

The role requires strong leadership of the site EHS team, collaboration with project management and subcontractors, and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in EHS/HSE leadership on major construction projects.
• Experience in data centres, mission-critical or complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
• Experience managing EHS teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of risk management, incident investigation and audits.
• Experience on large-scale MEP-intensive construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Confident to operate at site and senior management level.
• Relevant EHS qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EHS function across the project.
• Develop and maintain the project's EHS management systems.
• Ensure compliance with Swedish health, safety and environmental laws.
• Provide visible EHS leadership on site.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering and subcontractors.
• Develop and lead the site EHS team.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and reviews.
• Monitor EHS KPIs and drive improvements.
• Lead investigations into incidents and non-conformances.
• Review RAMS, permits, and risk assessments.
• Support toolbox talks and safety initiatives.
• Promote proactive safety culture.
• Liaise with client, consultants, authorities on EHS.
• Provide regular EHS reporting to senior leadership.
