Job summary

Fohntech Group is recruiting an experienced EHS Advisor / Lead for Belgium projects with a rotation plan available. You will oversee environmental, health and safety management on site, coordinate risk assessments, method statements, and training, while ensuring compliance with current legislation.

You will lead a team of EHS advisors, drive safety improvements, conduct audits, and liaise with site management. This role offers a proactive environment with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
• 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors.
• Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to the project & Safety Management system.
• Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & safety provisions & legislation.
• Adherence to PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
• Coordinate development of task specific Method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action, permit to work.
• Compliance with the project execution plan.
• Coordinate project safety indicators.
• Maintain and ensure good Safety Practices.
• Ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments, control of hazardous substances.
• Ensure safety interventions are completed & registered.
• Carry out regular site audits and inspections, document results and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools and plant.
• Adopt proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Provide Safety input to site management & at site EHS forums.
• Ensure sub-contractors adhere to EHS policies & procedures.
• Coordinate induction & training.
• Ensure PPE is resourced & available.
• Prepare Toolbox talks and communicate findings.
• Assist accident investigations and communicate to project management.
• Welfare & Hygiene facilities are in place, managed & maintained.
• Liaison with site Project Management on EHS issues.
• Up to date documentation included in Safety File.
• Waste reduction and recycling programmes maintained in line with project policies.

Essential Criteria for the Role:

• 7+ years’ experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
• Experience working on Data Centres
• 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors
• Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
• Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
• Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site.
• Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
