Recruit Island is looking for Academic Personal Assistants to provide essential support to college students on a Galway campus. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals passionate about helping students with disabilities succeed in their academic journey, offering flexible part-time hours and a supportive environment.
Kindly note that we do not offer visas or sponsorship for this role. Only persons who have the right to work in Ireland and/or a valid Visa are eligible for this role.
Academic Personal Assistants – Galway 3rd level campus
Are you passionate about inclusion and supporting people with complex needs to achieve their academic goals? We're looking for dedicated, reliable, and compassionate individuals to join our team and provide essential academic and personal support to college students during one of the most transformative times of their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
APA- An APA (Academic Personal Assistant) is a one-on-one role with a student and depending upon their disability can include meeting them as they arrive on campus, opening doors, carrying personal belongings, assisting with sourcing books in the library, and usually note taking during lectures. A Level 7 or equivalent (in any field)or a L5 or L6 in Healthcare
Ideal for:
Individuals seeking fulfilling part-time work during term time.
An ideal role for a master’s student, someone who wants a regular on campus hours per week
Teaching assistants, SNAs, support workers, or care workers seeking weekday hours
Students or graduates in psychology, education, social care, or related fields who have completed their L5 or L6 in Healthcare.
