Job Description
The main purpose of this role is to manage the Ground Site Investigation (GSI) and Landowner Engagement activities. The Project Manager (PM) will act as the subject matter expert, focusing on:
- Liaising with consultants and GSI contractors to complete factual reports for planning submissions and detailed designs.
- Engaging with the client's public engagement and legal teams, as well as consultants, to complete and issue landowner agreements.
Responsibilities
- Leading significant infrastructure delivery programmes, including developing overall approaches, major timeframes, and defining major deliverables to meet project goals.
- Maintaining realistic project plans, monitoring progress against quality and performance criteria, and ensuring proper resource allocation.
- Implementing project controls considering budgets, schedules, quality, and risks.
- Ensuring clear understanding of project goals and managing the lead consultant to deliver within agreed timeframes.
- Managing stakeholders and ensuring effective communication.
- Managing risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation such as programmes, reports, risk registers, and logs.
- Managing change control procedures and programme governance.
- Procurement of GSI contractors through existing frameworks in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Collaborating with contractors and consultants to deliver ground investigations safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications
- Engineering or technically biased degree with 5+ years relevant experience.
- Ability to work from Dublin office up to 2 days a week, with site visits as needed.
- Experience in power systems, utilities, or construction industries, with adaptability and innovation skills.
- Thorough understanding of geotechnical investigations.
- Experience with CPO and landowner agreements in infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of regulated utility environments and introducing new concepts or processes is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commercial awareness and decision-making capabilities.
- Full, clean driver’s license.
