The Team and the opportunity

We have an exciting Director role available in EY’s market-leading Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team, working with some of the largest multinational and Irish companies. This role also offers the opportunity to work extensively across EY’s sub-services, including advisory, assurance, and tax.

Specifically, within FAAS, we are recruiting for our Finance Advisory & Process Improvement competency.

You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and enhancing existing client relationships, leading project teams, and delivering a first-class customer experience through high-profile engagements.

FAAS are trusted advisors to our clients’ finance and reporting organizations, providing support and business solutions in financial reporting, accounting, and financial control. Our services include:

  • Accounting and Reporting Services
  • Transaction accounting, IPO, and Capital Markets Services
  • Finance Processes, Internal Controls, and Analytics Services
  • Treasury and Finance Support Services

Our professionals combine technical expertise with industry insights to help clients make informed decisions and gain a competitive edge.

Your key responsibilities

  • Growing the finance optimization business through new opportunities and client contacts;
  • Representing the FAAS practice at events and seminars;
  • Leading delivery on client projects to ensure quality and exceptional service;
  • Managing client relationships with senior stakeholders;
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members;
  • Collaborating with other EY teams for seamless solutions;
  • Updating engagement leaders on progress and issues;
  • Conducting research and preparing high-quality deliverables;
  • Presenting work results clearly to clients and senior teams;
  • Developing talent through training, mentoring, and promoting wellbeing.

Skills and attributes for success

We seek motivated, analytical, and innovative candidates with strong attention to detail.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Accountancy qualification (ACCA / ACA / CPA / CA or equivalent)
  • At least 10 years post-qualified experience
  • Deep understanding of IFRS and FRS 102
  • Strong technical writing and risk management skills
  • Experience in finance process optimization, controls, and automation tools like RPA, OCR, PowerBI, SAP, etc.

Ideally, you will also have

  • US GAAP and SOX knowledge
  • Business development experience
  • Ability to handle complex accounting issues and lead engagements
  • Knowledge of finance governance and internal controls
  • Industry experience and commercial awareness
