Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist in Blood Sciences

We are seeking a Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Sciences Department at Eurofins Biomnis in Sandyford, Dublin 18. To work as a Medical Scientist in Ireland, full CORU registration is required. CORU is the regulatory body for Health and Social Care Professionals in Ireland.

Employment offers are contingent upon this registration. If you are a new graduate with a CORU-recognized BSc in Medical Science, and successfully complete the recruitment process, we can offer you a Clinical Scientist role. Upon registration with CORU as a Medical Scientist, you will be appointed accordingly.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Scientists and/or Laboratory Services Manager in our AutoLab (Blood Sciences), the Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist will:

1. Perform automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry, and Immunoassay analyses, including blood parasitology.
2. Conduct manual differential analysis and sample preparation.
3. Evaluate and authorize results.
4. Carry out clerical and technical tasks according to sample handling procedures.
5. Maintain policies and procedures, reviewing and updating as necessary.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement of the department.
7. Participate in developing and maintaining the ISO 15189 quality management system to ensure patient-centered, quality-focused results for patient care.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Science

Required licenses / certifications:

• CORU registration as Medical Scientist
• or
• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist

Experience

• Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory

Knowledge

• High standard of suitability and management ability to perform duties effectively
