Job description

Role Purpose

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering activities on our specific construction projects. The activities will vary and will be agreed with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis. You will coordinate the technical design with onsite installation through to successful commissioning.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities

1. Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps, deviations, or contradictions in the specifications.
2. Validate cable & containment sizing and make recommendations as appropriate.
3. Ensure that technical assessments are completed as required and resolve technical issues promptly.
4. Compile and issue electrical technical submittals.
5. Assist with Value Engineering opportunities & proposals.
6. Manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment, and verify receipt upon delivery.
7. Attend and record regular supply chain meetings to monitor progress within the overall construction programme.
8. Update and record progress on system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
9. Manage and coordinate the CAD/BIM Model according to the M&E Services co-ordination plan for each project.
10. Review electrical installation with the CAD/BIM team to ensure constructibility and adequate space for installation and maintenance.
11. Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site & successful handover.
12. Conduct electrical system walk-downs to verify compliance with specifications and drawings.
13. Compile test packs, FATs, and O&Ms for approval.
14. Manage specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion of their works.
15. Conduct technical review of tenders as required.
16. Mentor junior/graduate engineers.
17. Undertake client training in line with the training plan.
18. Uphold high standards of quality in line with ISO 9001:2015 and our quality management system.

Requirements

1. 6+ years of industry experience.
2. Relevant 3rd level electrical engineering qualification (Electrical trade background advantageous).
3. Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Revit/Navisworks advantageous.
4. Strong interpersonal skills for effective engagement with diverse personalities.
5. Excellent communication, planning, organizational, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong literacy and numeric skills.
