Job Description: Senior Telecommunications Technology Strategist, Dublin 1

Team Overview

The Wholesale Products team oversees the development and maintenance of Wholesale Regulated Access Products ('RAP') in regulated markets, focusing on symmetric obligations applicable to all operators. The team engages with the telecommunications industry on issues related to Fixed Networks products and services, evolving with technological and regulatory changes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze technology evolution and its impact on regulated markets.
  • Stay updated on European telecommunications regulations and share knowledge within the team.
  • Use insights for strategic planning and implementation of regulation and RAPs.
  • Advise on technical engineering matters and manage external advice when needed.
  • Lead knowledge sharing on technology and regulation within the team and division.
  • Analyze key regulatory elements and implement relevant regulations.
  • Review issues in the Irish telecom market and provide recommendations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including industry, NRAs, and the European Commission.
  • Coordinate with legal, economic, financial, and engineering staff to meet objectives.
  • Support market analysis and contribute to consultations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in telecommunications or related field; strong telecom background considered.
  • Experience in a technical role within telecom operators, vendors, cloud providers, or consultancies.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in process-driven environments.
  • Desirable: regulatory experience, knowledge of emerging regulations, project management, cloud/data architectures, excellent communication skills.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Understanding of Fixed Telecommunications Network technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Package and Benefits

  • Salary: €85,376.53 to €106,737.05, based on experience and government pay policy.
  • Location: Dublin city centre (IFSC), hybrid working model.
