Job description

Associate, Strategic Planning and Enablement

Remote

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate, Strategic Planning and Enablement to join our team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

You will work cross-functionally with internal and external Oscar stakeholders, representing the needs and interests of the department in company-wide initiatives. We ask that you have strategic thinking, project management, and communication skills with an ability to work across disparate initiatives and various stakeholders at the same time. The Member Experience Strategy team is redefining the healthcare journey by delivering a member experience that disrupts the industry. The work we drive ensures that every member feels valued, supported, and empowered.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Member Experience Strategy.

Work Location: Oscar is a blended work culture where everyone, regardless of work type or location, feels connected to their teammates, our culture, and our mission.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote/work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $98,400 - $129,150 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $88,560 - $116,235 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end management of cross-functional implementations/projects, including project plan creation, stakeholder engagement, managing cross-functional relationships to drive collaboration, edge case mitigation, and on-time completion.
  • Evaluate overall departmental performance by creating, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics as well as assisting in the development of departmental metrics and implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboratively work with all relevant internal and external stakeholder groups to formulate proactive implementation, communications, and program strategies for successful change management and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Mentor team members and promote colleagues’ growth and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy/operations/program management.
  • 2+ years of experience in leading end-to-end projects/programs, independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience analyzing data and using metrics to drive improvements in programs.
  • 2+ years of experience using data software such as Excel and SQL, and conducting data analysis.
Bonus Points
  • Experience/background in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Healthcare experience (Health Insurance, Health Systems, or Healthcare Consulting) is a plus.
  • Successfully executed enterprise-wide initiatives: defined project plans, coordinated resources, managed implementation activities, and developed all processes associated with program rollout and ongoing support.
  • Experience in a member-facing role or a function focused on enhancing the overall member experience.
