The Role

We are seeking a dynamic professional to join our EMEA environmental permitting team, based in Dublin. The role requires experience in managing and delivering environmental permits in EMEA, such as IED permits, EIAs, and other environmental inputs.

You will collaborate with real estate, due diligence, and design engineering teams to locate and permit AWS infrastructure across Europe. This fast-paced role is critical to AWS’s ongoing success, involving multiple projects across the continent.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Environmental due diligence including risk analysis, site screening, and approvals.
  2. Engagement with regulatory agencies.
  3. Lead interactions with regulatory agencies, permits, and planning approvals.
  4. Ensure work by contractors, consultants, and employees meets Amazon standards.

About the Team

The team manages multiple site development projects, from due diligence to design and permitting. Close collaboration with Real Estate, Risk, Design Engineering, and Legal teams is essential. The role requires managing multiple projects with minimal oversight.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering, science, or related field.
  • Experience with EU permit evaluations, EIAs, biodiversity, water discharge, and waste management.
  • Proven success in environmental permitting and assessments in at least one European country.
  • Experience managing multiple permitting projects across Europe.
  • Highly autonomous with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across jurisdictions.
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% within Europe.
