Job summary

Eastgate Engineering in Waterford, Ireland seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team on-site. You will review specifications, drawings and tender documents to prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates, and manage tender submissions to help secure major projects.

You will travel regularly between Ireland and the UK, liaising with clients and internal stakeholders through tender and handover processes, delivering precise costings for Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Power

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical Estimator or electrical engineer with estimating duties.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Power Generation, or Oil & Gas sectors.
• Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates.
• Ensure tender documents are technically accurate, complete, and compliant with client requirements.
• Prepare and submit electrical tenders within required timescales.
• Attend client meetings, site visits, and tender briefings.
• Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the tender and handover process.
• Finalise tender submissions and participate in pre-contract meetings to help secure projects before handover to Project Managers.
• Liaise with customers to review, interpret, and understand project specifications and requirements.
• Maintain specification confirmations for contracts, identifying and pricing variations, upgrades, and concessions where required.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, suppliers, and the wider supply chain.
• Manage multiple tenders and priorities while working to tight deadlines.

About the Role

Eastgate Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Waterford. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented professional to play a key role in securing and delivering major projects across a range of sectors.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Power Generation, and Oil & Gas industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Review specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to prepare accurate quotations and cost estimates.

• Experience within Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or similar sectors.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
