Job summary

MJ Wright’s Pub & Restaurant, located on South Great Georg es Street, Dublin 2, seeks a dynamic General Manager to lead a vibrant hospitality venue. You will drive daily operations across pub, restaurant and function space, uphold high standards, and inspire a top FOH/BOH team.

Your role includes managing labour, stock, margins, and weekly P&L targets while delivering an exceptional guest experience and ensuring licensing, food safety, and health & safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Manager or senior hospitality leader.
• Strong people skills and the ability to build a positive, high-performing culture.
• Confidence managing busy service, high volumes, and fast decision-making.
• Solid understanding of financials, stock control, and labour planning.
• A passion for Irish pub culture and delivering brilliant customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Venue operations — Full responsibility for daily service, standards, and smooth running of the pub, restaurant and function space.
• People leadership — Coaching, developing, and inspiring a strong FOH and BOH team.
• Financial performance — Managing labour, stock, margins, and weekly P&L targets.
• Guest experience — making every visit feel personal and creating the type of experience people talk about.
• Compliance & safety — Maintaining high standards in licensing, food safety, and health & safety.
• Marketing & community engagement — Supporting promotions, events, and brand presence on Georges Street.
