Job summary

HSE is seeking applications from suitably qualified medical professionals for the position of Temporary Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a 12-month period. The role is 37 hours per week with on call commitment.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary CAMHS team, delivering high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for children and adolescents presenting with a broad range of mental health difficulties.

Qualifications

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Demonstrated experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and adolescents.
• Deliver evidence-based care in line with policies and national standards.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to non-consultant hospital doctors and other professionals.
• Contribute to on-call and emergency services as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
