Job summary

Takeda Ireland Grange Castle is seeking a Plant Technologist to lead manufacturing activities, align with EHS and quality procedures, and operate on-site in Grange Castle, Ireland. The role requires 5+ years in solid oral-dose production and experience with MES/DCS systems, plus lean mindset.

You will participate in process validation, changeovers, and waste management while maintaining rigorous documentation and training records. On-site work with competitive package and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • 3rd level technical qualification in science or engineering (advantage).
  • 5+ years in Solid Oral Dose production (encapsulation, tableting, dispense & blending, primary packaging).
  • 5+ years in automated production systems (MES, DCS).
  • 5+ years in a high potency manufacturing facility (advantage).
  • Startup experience in pharma production (advantage).
  • Experience with lean methodologies (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Manage manufacturing operations in compliance with BMR/EBR and SOPs.
  • Participate in problem identification, RCA and Agile Projects.
  • Contribute to new processes and process validation.
  • Ensure facilities operated for optimum efficiency and correct changeovers.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant workplaces; manage waste.
  • Support training and cGMP documentation.
  • Ensure training completion and record-keeping.

Job description

About the role:

Reporting to the P2 Drug Product Team Lead the P2 Plant Technologist will work as part of the team to ensure all manufacturing relating activities are performed to ensure operational targets are achieved. You will adopt and follow all EHS and quality procedures in their daily activities. Work in onsite work mode.

How you will contribute:
  • Ensure your team give the best of themselves to achieve us and departmental goals.
  • Manage manufacturing operations in strict compliance with, the relevant manual or electronic manufacturing instruction (BMR / EBR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or other Protocol.
  • Participate in TILGC including problem identification, Just do its, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Agile Projects.
  • Contribute to the introduction of new processes and the execution of process validation by and under the direction of relevant support personnel.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing and ancillary facilities are operated to optimum efficiency.
  • Ensure that changeovers of both equipment and production areas are carried out.
  • Ensure that the workplace and ancillary facilities are maintained in a clean and tidy state and during manufacturing activities.
  • Ensure that housekeeping tasks are completed as assigned including the physical cleaning of process and ancillary facilities
  • Your work may involve shift work to meet future production demands
Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Foster, in cooperation with other TILGC (Takeda Ireland Grange Castle) staff, an ethos and culture of safety awareness where safety is accepted as an necessary part of the business.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Notify the P2 DP team lead (or other appropriate responsible person).
  • Breach of HSE policy, procedure or regulation.
  • Potential hazard which could have a serious impact on safety or result in serious injury.
  • Participate as a member of the site Emergency Response Team.
  • Manage waste streams resulting from the manufacturing process and dispose of waste according to onsite waste management procedures.
Quality Systems and GMP
  • Participate in auditing programmes but about contracted engineering and related services.
  • Notify the P2 Manufacturing Operations Manager/Designee (or other appropriate responsible person) of any deviations from defined manufacturing processes or other established procedures. Any abnormal occurrences or observations should also be reported.
  • Produce documentation associated with their activities by cGMP, Health and Safety and Environmental regulations or management systems.
Training
  • Participate in all training and assessment activities (internal and external) about themselves, contractors or other employees.
  • Ensure completion of all SOP (standard operating procedures) reading, training and assessment tasks.
  • Ensure that all training and assessment is promptly recorded for themselves and other relevant personnel observing TILGC procedures.
  • Maintain their base. Keep up to date with all current trends and legislation.
What you bring to Takeda:
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • 3rd level technical qualification in science or engineering discipline (is an advantage)
  • 5+ years of experience in Solid Oral Dose Production in any of the following: encapsulation, tableting, dispense & blending and primary packaging.
  • 5+ years of experience in automated production systems is desirable e,g., MES,DCS
  • 5+ years of experience in a high potent manufacturing facility would be an advantage.
  • Startup experience of a pharmaceutical production facility would be an advantage.
  • Experience of lean methodologies is desirable
