Job summary

Unum in Carlow is seeking a Director, UX Operations to lead talent planning, DesignOps and ResearchOps at scale, partnering with Design, Research, Product and Engineering to align resources with business priorities and deliver high‑quality customer experiences.

You will build workforce strategies, manage budgets and external partners, oversee portfolio delivery across UX initiatives, and drive KPI tracking, governance and strong executive reporting in a hybrid Ireland-based environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across UX operations and DesignOps.
• Experience leading and developing employees, including coaching.
• Experience managing multi-team portfolios across UX, Product, Engineering.
• Strong planning, risk management and executive reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX Talent & Workforce Planning: staff development and engagement.
• Lead UX Portfolio & Program Management: translate priorities into clear roadmaps.
• Develop and improve the UX operating model and pod-based delivery.
• Scale Research Operations & Knowledge Management.
• Manage budgets and strategic partnerships with external UX vendors.
