Job summary

Job Description:

Working closely with both local & global Finance and Product Control Teams, this role will liaise with Front Office, Finance, Treasury, Information Technology, Risk, and other control functions and key stakeholders. Acting as key advisor to the front-office, Risk, Finance, and other key stakeholders for the coverage businesses, providing insight and analysis of the financial results. Specific activities would include the following: The Director is accountable locally for the Product Control responsibilities including but not limited to: Legal Entity P&L Dashboard oversight including monitoring P&L to RAS measures Supporting P&L production, attribution, analysis and Front Office queries. Local accountability for Valuation controls to include Independent Price Verification (IPV), and ongoing monitoring. Oversight of other Fair Value Adjustments and Valuation reserves (xVA) Primary liaison between trading desks & Finance: reviewing Remittance, resolving booking errors, funding queries. Develop local Product Control frameworks, policies and procedures aligned to Group. Supporting Balance Sheet analysis Work alongside Director for local Prudent Valuation (PruVal) oversight Review and approve new product and material business changes. Identify opportunities to improve/streamline processes. Proactively monitor all operational issues pertaining to the trading portfolios assigned. There will also be reporting requirements to the local ALCO and Board Committees as applicable.

Skills:
  • Strong financial and business acumen including direct experience in Global Markets/ Trading environment.
  • Experience in Product Control preferred specific experiences in Global Markets.
  • Experience with xVA, Prudent Valuation and IPV methodologies.
  • Developed management and collaboration skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.

The Director – Work directly and indirectly with a team of Finance professionals that provide strategic financial analysis, insights, decision support and/or reporting results and/or provide guidance and advice to various internal and external stakeholders. Depth & Scope: Requires in-depth stakeholder and/or broad financial and business perspective Scope may include integration of activities and Finance support for several key business lines Focuses on longer-range issues dealing with and solving highly sensitive, confidential and/or multifaceted and complex financial management issues Key interface and high-level resource to Business leaders on financial performance measures/business objectives/goals Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function’s or business segment’s overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements Wider Accountabilities: Develops and maintains good relationships with internal Finance business/specialized Finance partners and other stakeholders Effectively communicates relevant/meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes to all levels within the organization Ensures collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and provides fact-based analytical advice that aligns to strategy and drives shareholder value Liaises and effectively interacts with internal/external auditors/regulators where applicable and ensures appropriate action is taken where required Acts as subject matter expert as practice resource lead for own area and provides guidance/advice and recommendations to support dealings with internal/external partners Contributes to the analysis, due diligence and execution of potential business restructures, new business and product initiatives within own area of responsibility and ensures appropriate Finance areas are involved where necessary Manages/coordinates internal requests for Product Control support and/or reports, ensuring that solutions balance and address business partner needs with overall capabilities Participates on internal/external committees as appropriate to provide advice/counsel to business/finance partners and/or represent TD's interests.
