Job summary

Tramore Nursing Home is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the highest standards of care and governance. You will oversee clinical practice, staff development, and regulatory compliance to deliver exceptional resident outcomes.

The role requires a registered RGN with 3+ years in elder care and a post-registration management qualification, with strong leadership and financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Qualified RGN with at least 3 years’ experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person.
• Post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
• No less than 3 years’ experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area.
• Registered on appropriate part of NMBI live register.
• Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
• Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills.
• Sound decision making ability and results driven.
• Good appreciation of finance issues.
• Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
• Ability to work well and promote a team environment.
• Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the company.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall management of the home to ensure outstanding resident care.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with HIQA and company standards.
• Oversee budgeting and financial records for the community unit.
• Coordinate staff induction and ongoing training across teams.
• Engage with external community agencies and market the Home locally.
• Monitor complaints with documented investigations and outcomes.
