Job summary

Inspire Medical in Meath, Ireland, seeks a Director of Nursing / Assistant Director of Nursing to lead a multidisciplinary clinical team across residential, day care and community outreach settings, ensuring high standards and regulatory compliance.

The role requires active Nursing Board registration in the Psychiatric Division, extensive post-qualification nursing experience (including mental health), and a healthcare management qualification or plan to obtain one within 3 years.

Qualifications

• Active registration on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing Board.
• 5+ years post-qualification nursing experience with at least 3 years in mental health or intellectual disability settings.
• Post-registration qualification in healthcare management (Level 8 or higher) or commitment to obtain one within 3 years.
• Proven leadership, organizational ability, and decisive problem-solving skills under high-pressure conditions.
• Strong understanding of mental health and occupational safety legislation, plus excellent communication and IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage nursing staff while providing clinical leadership to a broad multidisciplinary care team.
• Safeguard high clinical nursing standards and uphold patient rights under governing mental health legislation.
• Maintain relational, procedural, and physical security measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors, including on-call rota participation.
• Guarantee strict compliance with health, safety, infection control protocols, and organizational policy guidelines.
• Collaborate across clinical departments to shape individual care pathways and contribute to forensic mental health nursing research.

This senior clinical management role oversees multidisciplinary care delivery, upholds standards, and ensures regulatory compliance

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Active registration (or eligibility for registration) on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing Board
• At least 5 years of post-qualification nursing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in mental health or intellectual disability settings
• Post-registration qualification in healthcare management (Level 8 or higher) or a contractual commitment to obtain one within 3 years
• Proven leadership, organizational ability, and decisive problem-solving skills under high-pressure conditions
• Strong understanding of mental health and occupational safety legislation, paired with excellent communication and IT proficiency
