Job summary

Novartis Ireland Ltd is seeking a Director of AI Systems Foundations & Reusable Capabilities to lead the creation of reusable AI foundations across Development. You will shape architectures and engineering practices for AI systems including agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI lifecycle management.

The role requires a minimum of 10+ years in AI leadership, with deep expertise in modern AI capabilities and a track record of building scalable reusable components across domains.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading AI, machine learning, or technical architecture initiatives.
• Experience designing reusable AI architectures, platforms, or capabilities.
• Deep expertise in modern AI systems including LLMs, RAG, and AI lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Define reusable AI foundations, patterns, and reference architectures across AI systems.
• Lead engineering practices for MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps with emphasis on reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with domain leaders to ensure interoperability and lifecycle management of AI capabilities.
