Job description

Job Description

Due to growing demand for our consultancy services, we are seeking an experienced Project Director in digital controls. This role will lead the strategy, design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the digital ecosystem that underpins capital delivery performance across major programmes and projects in Europe. This leader will combine senior‑level programme and project controls expertise with practical and hands‑on experience in configuring digital tools and systems, ensuring data integrity, operational efficiency and real‑time insight for decision‑makers.

The role will act as an authority on digital controls — spanning cost, schedule, risk, change, quality, reporting and information management — and will drive the integration of processes, systems and data across capital programmes and projects. Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, experience engaging with client stakeholders and the ability to work independently are a must. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, senior leadership and external partners to allow for the delivery of complex digital projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive digital project strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and clients’ strategic objectives
  • Establish the roadmap for digital platforms, including PMIS, CDE, BIM integration, cost and schedule systems, dashboards and data governance
  • Translate business requirements into system design specifications and functional configuration
  • Lead the selection, implementation and configuration of digital control systems (e.g. PMIS, cost management tools, scheduling platforms, CDEs)
  • Configure system modules including workflows, WBS, CBS, integrated project controls, governance and stage gate processes and user permissions
  • Conduct testing, validation, and optimisation of system logic, calculations, integrations and data flows
  • Drive user adoption through training, guidance, playbooks and engaging communications
  • Ensure all digital deliverables meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time
  • Evaluate project outcomes and processes, implementing improvements for future initiatives
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in delivering complex digital projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM related subjects, e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement, design, construction and handover
  • Strong knowledge of project controls processes including cost management, scheduling, risk, change control, governance and reporting
  • Hands‑on configuration experience with one or more PMIS or digital control platforms (e.g. Oracle Primavera Cloud, Oracle Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, CEMAR, SAP PS, Power BI, etc.)
  • Proficient in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certifications
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and evolving environment
Desirable Skills and Accreditations
  • Knowledge of BIM standards, 4D/5D integration or digital twins
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and enterprise data architecture
