Brophy Produce Limited require 3 Diesel Mechanic for its horticultural operation at Brophy Produce Ltd, Woodside, Newlands, Naas, County Kildare, qualified diesel mechanic with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience working on tractors, light goods vehicles and agricultural machinery, the salary range starts from 36,605 (17.60/hr) to 42,000 (20.19/hr) based on a 40-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.Job Description - Experienced Diesel Mechanic to service and repair a wide range of on-site diesel machinery for a large-scale horticultural operation. The role covers heavy tractors, light goods vehicles and various types of farm machinery. The successful candidate will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, perform system tests, replace major components as required and keep maintenance records up to date. The position is full-time (40 hours) and permanent, with seasonal overtime during peak periods. Work is 100% on-site across farm locations and requires flexibility, good physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure to minimise equipment downtime during the growing season.Service, maintain and repair diesel-powered tractors, light goods vehicles and a variety of farm machinery. Replace major components including engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems. Diagnose and interpret computer diagnostics and electrical test results. Implement and operate a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements and tyre rotations. Conduct system tests for lighting and electrical systems. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs. Maintain a safe, organised workshop and ensure equipment is controlled and stored safely. Keep accurate maintenance records and preventative maintenance plans. Adhere to farm safety protocols and legal vehicle maintenance requirements to ensure compliance.KEY REQUIREMENTSRequired Qualifications - Qualified diesel mechanic with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience working on tractors, light goods vehicles and agricultural machinery. Proven ability to perform engine, transmission, steering and brake repairs and overhauls. Competency in reading and interpreting computer diagnostics and performing electrical system tests. Valid driver's licence; C licence would be an advantage. Ability to perform basic field repairs and routine servicing on multiple sites. Flexible attitude to work and willingness to assist in other roles when required. Excellent physical stamina to work long and flexible hours during peak seasons. Good record of workshop safety and adherence to regulatory and legal vehicle maintenance standards.
