Job summary

UPMC Whitfield Hospital is seeking a Basic Grade Radiographer to join the Diagnostic Imaging Department in Waterford. The role supports General Radiography, Theatre Imaging, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and CathLab services, contributing to high-quality patient care and safety standards.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, 1–2 years’ experience preferred, and a commitment to continuous professional development within a multidisciplinary hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years' radiography experience (Desirable).
  • CT experience desirable; DEXA experience desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of RIS/PACS.
  • On-call availability and flexibility (Desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in general radiography service daily and be proactive in training.
  • Maintain ALARA and radiation safety principles in daily work.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care with accurate radiographic techniques.
  • Participate in routine QA procedures and accreditation activities.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by radiology leadership.
