Abbott Ireland is seeking a Diagnostic Assistant to support the Bulk Reagents and Diagnostic Products area. The role focuses on achieving production targets with emphasis on quality, safety, and proper documentation. Training of new staff and adherence to GMP are essential.
The job requires a Leaving Certificate or equivalent, and/or two years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment. Base pay is not disclosed; location is Sligo, Ireland.

To ensure the plant meets its customer service, financial, inventory management, quality and safety goals through the effective management of the Bulk Reagents and Diagnostic Products Area.
To carry out all activities assigned to ensure that production targets in terms of quality, safety, quantity, and volume are attained.
This position reports to the relevant department/area Team Leader or Manager.
To ensure that all procedures are followed in a safe manner, and all safety regulations and guidelines are adhered to.
Ability to interact in a friendly, cooperative manner with other departments within the plant and members of various teams.
Some work activities happen in an environment which is not constantly supervised. Diagnostic Assistants are expected to handle all day-to-day manufacturing issues; however, if a major problem occurs, they will confer with a Team /Testing/Unit/Shift Leader/ Manufacturing Manager.
No supervisory duties are associated with this position. No leadership activities are associated with this position.
Individuals are responsible for ensuring that proper procedures are adhered to; failure to do so could result in financial losses, customer complaints, ultimately product recalls and significant financial losses.
Individuals are given authority to carry out their duties without constant supervision. Formal goals are reviewed on a regular basis and formal performance reviews are carried out once per year.
Minimum: Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education is required, and/or 2 years manufacturing experience in a similar / regulated environment.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as Diagnostic Assistants are accompanied until certified as competent with tasks performed.
