Job description

John Sisk & Son have an opportunity for a Design Manager to join our team working on an exciting project in Cherry Orchard, Dublin. This role will be office-based at our Head Office in Citywest.

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the delivery of effective design across a large-scale project. You will oversee the pre-construction and construction design processes, liaising with the client, vendors, the design team, in-house bid team, operations team, and other digital/information functions within John Sisk & Son.

  • Manage design consultants, sub-consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of all design-related information for on-site execution.
  • Manage design coordinators and mentor them on their projects.
  • Contribute to Employer's Requirements and Contractor Proposal compatibility.
  • Support the Design Coordinator during the construction phase.
  • Chair and document design meetings, ensuring information production aligns with the design.
  • The ideal candidate will be diploma/degree qualified with 8-10 years’ experience.
  • Support both pre-construction and construction processes, leading innovative design solutions at all stages, and manage the design team’s tasks and processes.
  • Experience at pre-construction stage is essential.
  • Understanding of D&B contracts and commercial awareness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and View Point for Projects (4Projects).
  • Liaise with clients, design consultants, project staff, and site management regarding design and procurement strategies.
  • Degree in a construction-related discipline.
